In a clinical study published in the June issue of Current Therapeutic Research, 62 moderately overweight subjects taking 400 mcg of chromium picolinate lost 6.2 lbs of fat over a 90 day period, compared to 3.4 lbs. of fat in the group of 60 subjects taking placebo. Researchers stated that these results support previous research on chromium picolinate's benefits to body composition. The study was led by Gilbert Kaats, PhD at the Health and Medical Research Foundation in San Antonio, TX. It was funded by AMBI in Tarrytown, NY, using the company's Nutrition 21 supplement.
