Japan removes barriers to import of vitamins.

The US Commerce Department announced that
Japan has eliminated trade barriers to import of
high dose vitamin supplement products. These
products may now be imported in any form and
concentration and sold in any retail outlet,
opening up trade opportunities for US companies.
Discussion of the "liberalization" of herbal and
mineral supplements is scheduled for spring of
1998.
