The Council for Responsible Nutrition is dedicated to helping to reduce health care costs and enhancing the public's health through good nutrition, including the appropriate use of dietary supplements. The Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) is located at the National Agricultural Library (NAL), part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Agricultural Research Service (ARS). FNIC is supported in part by a Cooperative Agreement with the University of Maryland's Department of Nutrition and Food Science in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

promoting mutual understanding within the food supply chain.

The Nutrient Data Laboratory (NDL) is one of seven units in the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC) of the Agricultural Research Service (ARS).
