Bastyr investigates adulterants in Chinese patent medicines

Bastyr University has undertaken a study intended to determine the prevalence of adulterants, drugs, toxins, endangered species and illegal or inaccurate labeling practices in Chinese patent medicines. Bastyr seeks input and support from the Chinese medicine community, product distributors, and patent medicine manufacturers in hopes of reducing criticism and improving the manufacture, labeling, and marketing of these products to comply with US and world standards.
