Online sales of dietary supplements reach $40 million

Supplement sales on the internet hit $40 million in 1998, an increase of $12 million over 1997 figures, according to Nutrition Business Journal. This accounts for only 0.3 percent of the total 1998 US supplement market of $13.6 billion. However, the rate of sales growth for supplements on the internet far exceeds that of natural foods stores, mass-market stores, and multilevel marketing.

Natural Business, May 1999.
